Tip 1: Get Smart - Educate Yourself and Your Sales Staff
To become a better business person, you need to educate yourself. No, this doesn't mean you will have to go off and get an MBA. Rather, it means becoming savvier with your business. Make sure that every employee knows how to give directions to the store. Store clerks should make mental and physical notes of key customers and their product preferences. Your prices need to be competitive. To enhance your margins and to acquire products from suppliers at "good" prices attend distributor shows. Make sure your sales staff is motivated and trained to educate customers and can explain the advantages of our products. Tip 2: Boost Sales with Advertising
Take advantage of co-op advertising. To get your ads noticed, announce specials, giveaways, and events. Be sure to include store hours and location. Look beyond print ads for ways to grab your consumes' attention. Dust off that old computer and jump online!

Tip 3: Host Demo Days
Work with a local shooting range and a firearms company representative to host a demonstration that lets consumers test-shoot different ammunition.
